Earliest Job Allocation of the day
Background trigger to flag a job allocation as a resources first job for the day
Important: This function can be used with Award Interpreters to determine whether the resource gets reimbursed for the travel to the first job of the day or if the client gets charged for this.
The “Is Earliest” function can help you manage how travel to the first job of the day is handled — whether the worker (resource) should be reimbursed or whether the client should be charged for it.
When allocating jobs, you might need to correctly apply rules around travel time, especially for the first job a worker attends each day. Different industries and agreements (such as Award Interpretation rules) may require you to either:
- Reimburse the worker for their travel to the first job, or
- Charge the client for the worker’s travel time.
To do this accurately, Skedulo can automatically identify the first job of the day using the “Is Earliest” indicator. This ensures you can apply the correct billing or reimbursement rules without manually checking each schedule or write custom formulas using the Is Earliest checkbox.
- The Is Earliest field on the Job Allocation can be used to indicate whether it is the earliest/first allocation of the day for a resource.
- A function has been implemented to observe any changes in the times of job allocations to then automatically and appropriately update the earliest/first allocation of the day for a resource.
- For example:
- JA-74214 was the first allocation of the day for Huy Hai resource, hence Is Earliest checkbox is indicated

- JA-74215 was then created with start time at 6:00 am (while JA-123 had start time at 12:00 pm), hence JA-74215 now became the earliest job allocation, automatically, Is Earliest checkbox on JA-74214 was removed
