Capture Travel To Appointment

You can use the travel and transport form – ‘Travel to appointment’ section to view estimated travel information and record the actual time and distance spent travelling to a client appointment, along with any additional costs. You can access this from forms related to both single client bookings and group event jobs.

Steps to Record Travel to Appointment Details:

  1. While actively working on a job, open the Travel and Transport form.
  2. Navigate to the section labelled Travel To Appointment.
  3. Review the estimated travel time and distance displayed (these are read-only).
  4. Fill out the Actual travel fields with the time and distance you actually travelled to the job and any Additional Costs:
    • Enter the actual duration in minutes.
    • Enter the actual distance in kilometres.
    • Enter any additional costs (like tolls) in dollars.
  5. Save the form.

If the job is a group event, the values captured when travelling to the appointment can be split evenly across the attendees using the Travel & Transport Apportionment for Group Events feature, or unevenly using percentage splits entered by the worker.

Field Descriptions:

Estimated Travel Duration (mins) – (read-only)Calculated based on the Skedulo function when the job status is changed to “En-route”, as detailed in Estimate job allocation object travel time and distance.
Estimated Travel Distance (km)The Estimated Travel Distance is calculated from the location where the resource started travelling to the job by tapping Start Travel on the Skedulo mobile app to the geolocation of the job.
Actual Travel Duration (mins)To record the actual duration of travel to the appointment, as minutes.
Actual Travel Distance (km)To record the actual distance of travel to the appointment, as kilometres.
Additional Travel Cost ($)To record the total of any additional costs for travel to the appointment, as dollars (e.g. toll road charges).
