Activate auto dispatching job feature
Auto dispatch and notify work to resources, when jobs are created directly against a resource
The Healthcare solution offers the ability to auto dispatch jobs when they are created directly against a resource inside our consoles. This feature can be applied to the following apsects;
- Service Management Console
- Scheduling Console
- Group Event
- Job Record
- Resource Roster Console
- Resource Calendar
- Roster Management Console
- Contract Record
- Client Availability Console
Considerations
- Creating or updating jobs in the Scheduling Console, including the drag & drop action and creating recurring schedules, supports auto dispatching.
- Any other methods to create jobs will not support auto dispatching. The current “Publish Schedule” function can be used to auto dispatch these jobs instead.
To set up:
The custom setting Auto_Dispatch_Job should be turned on and enables the dispatching of work to resources from the AU Health consoles.
Use this custom setting to control whether:
- Allocated resources are automatically accepted and notified when the job is created, or
- The scheduler must dispatch the job from the Skedulo web app.
Setting options:
- Set Auto_Dispatch_Job to true to automatically dispatch a job when creating jobs and allocating resources.
- Set Auto_Dispatch_Job to false to manually dispatch a job when creating jobs and allocating resources.

The following setting Auto_Dispatch_Job_Settings can be updated to define which consoles this feature should activate.
- Navigate to Setup > Custom Settings > Skedulo Configs:
- Find and edit setting Auto_Dispatch_Job_Settings. Append the text “HSC” = true to the current value. This will ensure the auto dispatch function also covers the Scheduling Console.
